It is with a heavy heart that I share the overwhelming news of the passing of Kevin Robert. Yesterday evening, Kevin suffered a sudden medical emergency mid-flight while working with LifeNet.
There are no words that can truly describe this loss. Kevin was one of the finest paramedics in our region and state. His skill and unwavering dedication to his patients set a standard for all of us in EMS. Over the past eight years, I was fortunate to work alongside him both here at HVCC and at the MVP Arena, and in that time, I came to know Kevin as a great friend.
Kevin gave everything to this profession. He dedicated his life to the care of others and, tragically, he gave his final moments in that same spirit of service. I hope that will ultimately earn him a star on the NYS EMS memorial, a fitting tribute for him.
In this moment of grief, I hope we can find some comfort in knowing that Kevin’s impact will live on, not just in the lives he saved, but in the countless providers he inspired. Please keep Kevin, his family, his HVCC, MVP and LifeNet colleagues, and our entire EMS community in your thoughts during this heartbreaking time.
